DIRECTIVE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 16 December 2015

Bird & Bird would like to review the amended Spanish Trade Mark Law (Act 17/2001) introduced by the Royal Decree 23/2018 and the main changes which will come into force after six months.

This amendment harmonises the Spanish legislation after the implementation of Directive (EU) 2015/2436 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2015 which aims to align the trade mark laws of Member States and improve the performance of the European Union's Iinternal market.

During the event we will analyse the different perspectives and approaches taken by of the British, German, Italian, French and Spanish legislation in order to determine how all this these countries have adapted the Directive into the local law.

Our colleagues across these jurisdictions will be present and able to provide an overview of how this amendment a has been implemented in each country.

Attendees have the opportunity to pose any questions at the end of the session.
