Esther Ma

My practice covers corporate and commercial matters with a focus on the education and retail & consumer sectors.

I am based in Shanghai Corporate team. I work closely with overseas clients to help them expand their business in China through different ways and deal with the day-to-day legal issues of their China entities.

Before joining in Bird & Bird, I worked in the corporate group of a PRC law firm for over 3 years with litigation experience and prior to that at a local government agency. I specialise in general corporate, education and retail & consumer sectors.

I was awarded the third prize in the East China Lawyers Forum for my essay titled 'Brief analysis on the main legal issues in the field of private education' before joining Bird & Bird.

I graduated from East China University of Politics and Law in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Laws and passed the PRC bar exam in the same year.

I am fluent in English and Mandarin.
