Elina Kaartinen

I am an Associate in our Tax group in Helsinki advising various kinds of clients on their domestic and international taxation related questions.

I joined Bird & Bird in January 2023. I hold a Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki. In my studies, I focused on domestic tax law, EU tax law and international taxation.

I assist our clients in diverse assignments, and I aim to provide our clients with clear and practical legal advice on their complex tax matters.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird's Tax group, I worked for two Big Four companies where I gained valuable experience in e.g., withholding taxation, tax disputes, tax treaties and transfer pricing related matters. Before graduating, I also worked for a small law firm as a trainee.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, doing sports and reading.

My native language is Finnish, and I work fluently in English. In addition, I have limited working proficiency in Swedish, German and French.
