Bird & Bird LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of Maria Carlsson as partner in the Corporate Group, based in the Helsinki office. She joins from Borenius Attorneys, where she was a partner in the M&A & Private Equity Group as well as the head of the Commercial Contracts team.
Maria specialises in private M&A and strategic contracting and has over 15 years of experience advising Finnish and international clients on structuring and negotiating demanding M&A and commercial deals, including cross-border and private equity transactions.
Her longstanding experience in the field of strategic contracting includes e.g. advising clients on joint ventures and cooperation agreements, purchase and supply contracts, distribution and agency models as well as compliance and risk management matters.
Maria's primary focus at Bird & Bird will be on advising clients on strategic acquisitions and divestments as well as on corporate and commercial matters. Further, she will focus on Nordic regional business development: Maria's appointment supports the firm's strategy of creating a seamless Nordic corporate team.
