International law firm Bird & Bird advised Munich-based foodtech company, Planet A Foods, on securing an $15.4 million in Series A funding.
Planet A Foods is a leading sustainable food technology company focused on revolutionising the chocolate industry. With a mission to provide global customers with a climate-friendly cocoa alternative, the company has developed its patented product, ChoViva. Led by World Fund, this funding round marks a significant milestone for Planet A Foods as it aims to bring its climate-friendly cocoa alternative, ChoViva, to a wider customer base.
With the Series A funding, Planet A Foods plans to increase its production capacity to meet the growing demand for its cocoa alternative. The company also aims to expand its market reach beyond Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to chocolatiers in the UK and US. Additionally, Planet A Foods intends to address other environmental challenges in the food industry, focusing on palm oil due to its association with deforestation and harmful emissions.
