Bird & Bird builds International Arbitration team with key hire


International law firm Bird & Bird has recruited arbitration specialist Sophie Lamb to continue to build the firm’s International Arbitration practice. Based in the firm’s London office, Sophie will play a key role in further developing the firm’s activities in international arbitration along with Bird & Bird’s other arbitration specialists in its offices in Europe and Asia.

Joining from Gary Born’s highly rated arbitration team at WilmerHale, Sophie brings extensive experience of international commercial arbitration. An experienced advocate, Sophie’s career began at leading commercial chambers One Essex Court. She has represented a variety of clients in the energy, construction, banking, communications, media, sports and entertainment industries since joining WilmerHale in 2000. She is closely familiar with the commercial law of several jurisdictions and has experience of complex, high-value commercial arbitrations before all major arbitral institutions. Sophie is described in a World Legal Forum poll as “a rising star” and “one to watch”.
