Leading Litigation Partner Joins Bird & Bird

Litigation department doubles revenue over last 2 years

International law firm, Bird & Bird, has hired Litigation partner, Jeremy Sharman. Formerly a partner with Allen & Overy's Litigation and Dispute Resolution department in Hong Kong, Jeremy advised on a broad range of major commercial disputes; he began his career as a trainee with the firm in 1985.

Jeremy joins Bird & Bird's Litigation team, the firm's fastest growing department, which has doubled its revenues over the last two years. The dramatic growth is principally due to the department's strong focus on the IT and Communications sectors, advising major telecommunications companies including Bull and BT, as well as Government Departments. A growing reputation for international work has further contributed to the Litigation team's success, representing clients such as the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation, Greece's largest telecommunications operator, in its action against TWT and the Government of Armenia.

Commenting on Jeremy's appointment, Trevor Asserson, Head of Litigation at Bird & Bird said:

"Clients within the fast moving sectors of IT and communications seek an innovative approach to litigation and dispute resolution, requiring real commercial awareness. Jeremy Sharman has strong international commercial experience and he will be a real asset to our team."
