Jo has strong experience of environmental, climate change and health & safety regulatory and transactional work
Jo is an associate in our Environment and Climate Change group, based in London.
With a broad range of transactional experience, Jo deals with the allocation of environmental, climate change and health & safety liabilities for corporate, real estate and energy clients. She is also very experienced in providing regulatory and risk management advice, particularly in the areas of climate change, emissions trading, renewables, energy efficiency and other low carbon policy initiatives.
Jo joined the firm from Ashurst, where she had worked as an environmental lawyer since her qualification in 2000 and has also spent time on secondment with Defra, working on the implementation of the first phase of the EU Emissions Trading System.
Jo has written many client newsletters and briefings, and carried out internal and external training on different aspects of environmental and climate change law and policy, including low carbon subsidies and other policies (including the Feed in Tariff and CRC Energy Efficiency Schemes), waste regulation and liability for contaminated land.
Jo is actively involved with several professional organisations, such as the UK Environmental Lawyers' Association's Climate Change Working Party and also a PLC Environment Lawyers' roundtable forum.
