William joined Bird & Bird in 2011 after completing his training contract with SNR Denton. He has a broad scientific and engineering background and in 2007 he graduated with a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Chemistry, from Durham University. William was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Law from Oxford Brookes University in 2008 and completed the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice in 2009.
William qualified as a solicitor in the Intellectual Property group and is based in the London office. He has been involved in a number of large trade mark and passing off cases, including the Group Lotus v Team Lotus case, and also has experience in patent and copyright matters. He has worked for clients in a number of different industries including automotive and engineering, manufacturing, IT and telecommunications, media and sports.
William's recent work has been acting on a breach of confidence dispute for a UK client in the IT industry. William has experience of litigation at all levels of English courts.
