Jennifer holds an MSc in molecular biology and genetics from the University of British Columbia, a law degree from Dalhousie University and an LLM from the University of Cambridge.
Jennifer is qualified to practice in England and Wales as well as Canada. After training at Bereskin & Parr in Toronto, Jennifer joined the firm as an IP lawyer. Whilst at Bereskin & Parr Jennifer was involved in passing off litigation for LEGO and patent litigation for Pfizer as well as non-contentious work which included patent drafting.
Jennifer joined the IP department at Bird & Bird in 2005 where she specialises in contentious matters covering a broad range of litigious intellectual property matters, particularly patents.
Recent cases that she has been involved in include European patent litigation for Edwards Lifesciences involving percutaneous heart valves and for Actavis involving the drug Nebivolol.
