Susanna Orispää

I am an associate in our Tech & Comms sector and Commercial Group in Helsinki where I advise our local and international clients on data protection, commercial contracts and matters of IT law.

I joined Bird & Bird in 2017 as a trainee, and finished my Masters Degree from the University of Lapland in 2018. Being a data protection and technology enthusiast, I concentrated my university studies and master's thesis around these topics. Before my graduation, I also worked in a variety of positions at other major law firms in Helsinki as well as in the public sector.

I have now been continuing my career as a lawyer here at Bird & Bird's Helsinki office since 2018. In addition to advising our clients on diverse privacy, commercial contracts and IT law related matters, I have also participated in multiple M&A projects, focusing particularly on IP, IT and data protection questions.

I completed my training on the bench at the District Court of Lapland in 2020.

I work fluently in Finnish and English, and I have a good understanding of Swedish. I am a member of the Finnish IT Law Association and the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights.
