I am an associate working in our Competition & EU law practice in Brussels. I primarily advise clients on all aspects of competition law as well as on trade defence matters.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2021, I spent over four years working as an associate at another leading international law firm, where I specialised in competition issues, EU regulation and policy, and international trade issues. During that time, I spent nine months working on secondment in Berlin, where I learnt to adapt and contribute to a different work environment and fostered relationships between colleagues across offices.
As part of my practice, I have gained significant experience advising clients in a wide range of sectors on all aspects of EU and Belgian competition law, including merger control, abuses of dominance, review of distribution agreements, vertical restraints and antitrust compliance. I have also developed expertise on sector regulation, economic sanctions, export controls, trade defence and customs matters.
My curiosity has pushed me to understand what goes beyond the law and explore the boundaries between law, politics and the various factors that influence global economies. I believe that understanding how these tune in to decision makers' reasoning in shaping future law and policy has never been more relevant when advising clients.
Before qualifying as a lawyer, I also completed a Blue Book traineeship at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Competition.
