Peter Paulikovics

I am a member of the Brussels office of Bird & Bird, where I focus on the domain of payments and financial regulation. I work with the Finance & Financial Regulation team and the Public Affairs team.

As part of the firm's Finance & Financial Regulation and international payments team, I have been involved in projects for various payment service providers, card issuers, payment schemes, online merchants and fintech companies. I respond to queries on topics such as Strong Costumer Authentication (SCA), card scheme rules, instant payments and EU regulatory issues based on the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) as well as digital assets and Central bank Digital currencies.

I strive to provide tailored and accurate advice to clients and have a passion for the constant technological development and new solutions that are created in the payments and fintech industries.

Before joining Bird & Bird in Brussels, I worked in a Luxembourgish law firm, where I worked on financing and securitization deals, syndicated loans as well as real estate portfolio transactions. Prior to my experience in Luxembourg, I worked in the European Commission in the Directorate General for the EU Budget, as part of a unit responsible for the financial rules governing the EU Budget.

I speak English, French, German and Hungarian fluently.
