As an associate in our Competition & EU Law Group in The Hague, I primarily advise and litigate on matters pertaining to EU and Dutch competition law. Public procurement law is another part of my practice.
As a member of Bird & Bird's Tech & Comms Sector Group I have a strong focus on regulated markets. Our clients frequently approach us with complex legal questions, ranging from assistance with dawn raids to the legal implications of cartels or abuse of dominance; and from advising on the submission of a bid in a tender to legal proceedings regarding the award of a contract.
Every day I aim to provide high-quality legal advice to clients, using clear and understandable wording. I particularly enjoy helping clients move forward when the law seemingly hinders them from doing so.
While studying, I developed a keen interest in competition law and public procurement law. Because of this I have closely observed the developments in both of these fields. I had the pleasure of studying EU competition law and EU public procurement law whilst obtaining a master's degree in European law. I also hold a master's degree in Dutch company law, which has proven useful in advising on merger filings with the Dutch and EU competition authority. Prior to this, I spent a year studying in the United Kingdom, and I have therefore gained a good understanding of English law.
