Maren Wilke, LL.M. (Edinburgh)

As part of our IP team in Hamburg, I advise and represent our national and international clients on intellectual property matters specialising in trademark and unfair competition law with a special focus on litigation and branding strategies.

While representing clients in all areas of intellectual property law, my focus lies on trademark matters, in particular strategic advice and litigation. I have experience in advising clients on questions regarding the development, extension and management of trademark portfolios, as well as all legal proceedings concerning infringement, registration, opposition and cancellation of trademarks before the German and European courts, the German PTO and the EUIPO.

The industry sectors I advise cover a wide range, including the automotive sector and media. In the past, I have also gained insight in advising the food and beverage industry with a special focus on indication of geographical origin.

During my legal studies I spent time in the UK and Canada, and completed an LL.M. programme specialising in IP law which broadened my understanding of IP matters in an international context.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked for a law firm in Hamburg specialising in IP law and adjacent fields.
