Laurens Linnewiel

I am a counsel in our Corporate practice in Amsterdam, where I focus on corporate cross-border M&A and private equity related matters.

I regularly advise companies on various issues in the field of mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions (including venture capital) and general corporate matters. I act for both domestic and international clients ranging from multinationals to family businesses.

My experience covers a wide range of industries, including leisure, automotive and energy. Having worked for international law firms in Amsterdam and London, I have significant experience in cross border M&A transactions and have led various multidisciplinary teams.

I particularly enjoy working with entrepreneurs and family businesses and guiding them through the process of an M&A deal. This is always in a cost-efficient and pragmatic manner. However, having worked as an inhouse lawyer at a listed multinational for more than two years, I also know the (boardroom) dynamics within multinationals and understand their needs.

I joined Bird & Bird in April 2022, after previously working at another international law firm in Amsterdam and London, a Dutch law firm in Amsterdam, and in-house for Royal Vopak.
