I am an associate in Bird & Bird's international Aviation & Aerospace sector group and part of the practice in Asia-Pacific from Singapore.

I have extensive experience in advising Indian airlines on cross border aircraft leases and commercial and technical contracts. I have had the opportunity to work with my clients very closely over the years which has helped me recognize their requirements and advise effectively.

Almost all my work experience has involved complex cross-border issues involving varying jurisdictions, which has equipped me with insight to address varied concerns of my clients.

Having worked primarily for airlines, I understand the value of commercial astuteness and cost-effectiveness in operations. To that end, I strive to collaborate with my clients in arriving at advantageous solutions.

Legal profession happened as a fortunate stroke of serendipity and I thoroughly enjoyed studying the subject for the breadth of understanding that it offered in aspects of human life. However, the most rewarding aspect of my profession has been meeting people from diverse cultures, walks of life and sectors. Everyday brings an exciting new set of challenges, so there is never a dull moment.

Aircraft have always fascinated me as an adolescent and I feel absolutely lucky that I get to work and grow in an industry that I truly feel passionate about!

• Advised Akasa Air on their Boeing Purchase Agreement for purchase of 72 737-8 Max Aircraft. The legal team brought in not only their legal expertise, but also their commercial acumen (advising on payment mechanisms etc.), which assisted Akasa in securing a more cost-efficient deal. (May 2021)
• Advised Akasa Air (SNV Aviation) on their LOIs with lessors regarding Sale Lease-Back of B-737-800 Aircraft (July 2021). The legal team played a pivotal role in assisting the emerging airline secure beneficial footing with the lessors.
• Negotiated a series of network agreements between Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) and Pratt & Whitney, New York team for provision of maintenance and repair services worldwide by Air India Engineering Services. The deal involved the legal team coordinating with several departments of the AIESL team on an array of agreements to arrive at technically and commercially sound positions. (March 2020)
• Assisted Air India with the term sheet for an ECB Loan for forty million USD approx. for financing acquisition of five CFM 56-5B engines under exchange from the Engine OEM (CFM) secured on three CFM engines for a term (December 2019). The deal was very time sensitive and was efficiently delivered with sound expertise.
• Negotiated LoI and the lease on behalf of Turbo Megha Airways Pvt, Ltd. ('Trujet') involving three old ATR 72-500 for a four-year term and assisted with all the transaction and delivery documents (July 2019). The team was able to cater to the needs of the regional carrier deftly owing to wide-ranging experience in advising airlines of varying fleet size.
