I am a senior commercial associate specialising in the energy sector, with a particular focus on renewable and low carbon generation and technological developments that impact on the energy industry.

I am part of the Energy & Utilities sector group in London and co-head of the Energy Storage group. I have a broad range of experience of energy projects in a number of jurisdictions including in relation to energy storage, generation, smart technologies, IT systems, distributed heat networks and regulated environments. My experience also includes a broad range of multi–party energy projects and the commercial agreements relevant to the build and operation of these projects together with their interaction with grid codes and regulations.

I have been involved in the emergent energy storage industry in the UK having authored a number of papers on the development of the regulatory framework and spoken at numerous events alongside funders, developers, contractors, industry groups and Ofgem.

I have also advised a number of clients working with new technologies being integrated into an increasingly digitalised energy system, including: smart metering, software and SaaS solutions, as well as AI and distributed ledger technologies.

My wider energy experience includes advising governments, regulated bodies, investors, project companies and consumers on commercial structuring for energy projects, including on the procurement of large national infrastructure projects. This often includes advice on the applicability of regulation, licence conditions, and financial incentive schemes and the structuring of projects to maximise revenues and minimise risk. In particular my experience includes managing the processes required to achieve completion on complex multiparty projects.
