I am a media, entertainment and technology lawyer in our Sydney Dispute Resolution Group.
I specialise in the media, entertainment, technology, and communications sectors.
Taking a strategic, collaborative, and practical view, I support clients in advisory and litigation matters. My philosophy is that legal issues can be beneficial catalysts for business growth and necessary change, rather than insurmountable challenges.
The media sector is central to my practice, and I work across core areas of law affecting media businesses such as defamation, copyright, advertising, and restrictions on publication. My team works with a wide range of media-related clients, from Australia and across our firm's international network. Having previously worked in media production and content creation, I understand some of the unique challenges content creators face from a first-hand perspective. I am well-positioned to advise clients working in this space to overcome legal obstacles and provide pragmatic, workable solutions – which enable, rather than hamper, content development.
Here at Bird & Bird, technology and communications are exceptionally important to us as a firm, and in my work. I have assisted a number of significant tech-focused organisations and multinationals with broadcasting, telecommunications regulation, privacy, spam and data security issues.
From a practice area perspective, I am an experienced litigator. Not only can I help with contentious issues in the media and technology sectors, but I also have expertise in supporting many clients to successfully resolve their disputes in general commercial contracting, insolvency and corporate areas.
I am committed to deeply understanding clients' businesses, and then providing clear, commercial and practical legal advice, tailored to each client's individual needs. I enjoy new challenges and consistently strive to expand and hone my legal knowledge and skills through lifelong learning.
