Jessica Quinlan

I am an associate in Bird & Bird's Dispute Resolution team, based in our Dubai office. I advise clients on disputes arising under the laws of England & Wales and the UAE.

I have experience advising clients on complex commercial disputes across a range of sectors, working on matters arising out of both our London and Dubai offices. The cases I work on often involve cross-jurisdictional elements, both before the English High Court and in international arbitrations. I have also been involved with several mediations and understand the value of trying to resolve disputes without formal proceedings.

In addition to being a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, I am admitted to practice in the United Arab Emirates, which allows me to advise on matters of UAE law. I trained and worked in Bird & Bird's London office for 4 years before moving to our Dubai office in 2022.

Whilst training at Bird & Bird, I completed a secondment at a major multinational bank. This experience provided me with an insight into how a law firm can best support a client facing a dispute and the importance of providing pragmatic advice that can be put into practice by a business.

Before joining Bird & Bird I worked at the world's largest advertising company, where I learned how to identify the commercial issues faced by clients in order to come up with effective creative solutions.
