I am a German and European patent and trade mark attorney specialising in life sciences and medical devices combining my technical expertise with a strong understanding of my clients' interests and technologies.

As a Counsel I advise many renowned clients in national and international intellectual property law in the technical field of all areas of life sciences, including biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, pharmacy, chemistry and medical devices.

I specialise in European and German patent law advising clients on obtaining patents, the management of patent portfolios, defending and attacking patents in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, and national revocation proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court. I am frequently involved in the preparation of freedom-to-operate, validity and infringement opinions providing value-added solutions and strategies in German and cross-boarder patent infringement cases.

Based on my extensive experience in biotechnological and pharmaceutical patent rights, I have been involved in a number of economically highly relevant opposition, revocation, patent ownership and infringement proceedings in the area of blockbuster therapeutic protein and antibody patents (e.g. adalimumab, infliximab, etanercept, bevacizumab, trastuzumab, pertuzumab).

In the past years I have expanded my technical and legal expertise in the area of medical devices patents (e.g. safety needle assemblies, IV safety catheter assemblies and stent technology) based on the extensive work on multijurisdictional patent prosecution and cross-boarder patent litigation cases.
