About Me

I am a partner in Bird & Bird's Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Insolvency department in Madrid.

I assist my clients with their problems and disputes, especially when they are complex and involve insolvency issues.

I have experience in all kind of commercial disputes, both in court and arbitration, especially in matters involving real estate, construction, baking, sports law and insolvency.
Courts and tribunals are my 'playground'.

I do real estate and construction litigation advising real estate companies, family offices, developers, banks, funds, servicers and construction companies in any kind of dispute where a real estate asset may be involved.

In addition, I advise my clients, especially financial institutions, fintechs, payment institutions, funds and servicers, on disputes related to all kinds of banking and financial issues such as fraud, phishing and identity theft, mortgages, general terms and conditions, consumers and others.

I also have experience in sports law arbitration.

In the field of insolvency, my practice includes experience advising debtors through the filing of insolvency and pre-insolvency applications, liquidation, purchase and sale of business units, restructuring plans, but also advising creditors in the defence for the recognition of their claims. I also represent investors interested in acquiring business units and assets belonging to companies under insolvency. Finally, I am also sometimes appointed as insolvency practitioner or trustee by the commercial courts.

My experience in insolvency law helps me to better address any problems or disputes when insolvency is close at hand.

I am an Arbitrator of the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration, of the Spanish Court of Arbitration, of the Football Arbitration Court of the Professional Football League and of the Spanish Court of Arbitration for Sports of the Spanish Olympic Committee.

In addition, I am lecturer at Instituto de Empresa, IE Law School, where I teach Banking Litigation and at Universidad Carlos III where I teach Insolvency Law and International Insolvency Law.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I was a partner in a Spanish law firm.
