I am a partner in Bird & Bird's Dispute Resolution department in the Madrid office.

I help my clients solve their dispute and litigation problems, particularly when they are complex and include insolvency issues.

I have wide experience in all kinds of commercial disputes, especially in banking litigation matters, real estate, construction litigation and insolvency issues. Courts, arbitration courts and tribunals are my playground.

I advise my clients, especially banks, funds and real estate servicers, in disputes regarding all kinds of banking products such as mortgages, multicurrency mortgages, disputed credits, floor clauses, general condition contractual clauses, consumers and others.

I also specialise in real estate and construction litigation, advising real estate companies, banks, funds, real estate servicers and construction companies in any kind of dispute in which a real estate asset may be involved.

I have also advised on civil and commercial disputes, corporate litigation, administrators' liability, unfair competition, insurance and others.

My practice includes considerable experience in insolvency and bankruptcy cases advising debtors through the submission of the insolvency request, winding up, pre-pack administration, but also defending creditors when fighting for the recognition of their credits, representing investors interested in the acquisition of industries and assets belonging to companies under insolvency, and appointed as insolvency receiver by the court. My experience in insolvency helps me to better approach dispute cases whenever an insolvency situation may be close.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I was a partner at a Spanish law firm.

• Legal advice and defence for an international investing fund in the acquisition of a relevant historic building in Barcelona belonging to a company under insolvency situation. Matter value over €15,000,000
• Legal advice and defence for a Spanish bank on a dispute about a Real Estate Socimi that claimed for the nullity of a floor clause in a mortgage loan contract. The case went up to the Supreme Court. Matter value: over €5,000,000
• Legal advice and defence to a listed construction company in several kinds of disputes related to construction contingencies and Real Estate matters. One relevant case was about construction contingencies and damages over €1,500,000
• ICC international arbitration between a multinational trading company specialised in raw materials and metals - with a top billing of € 600,000,000 per year, against a multinational metal company, due to a breach of an international sale contract. Matter value: $1,300,000
• Domestic construction arbitration on the modernisation of irrigation infrastructures in Spain. Matter value: €2,500,000
• Appointed as judicial insolvency receiver: the company had over €240 million total debt. Liquidation of the company group. Highlight case under the liquidation of the company: solar plant business unit sold to an international energy investment fund. Matter value: over €12,000,000
