Alban Kang

I am a consultant with our Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms group in Singapore. With almost 40 years in practice, I have developed a specialist focus on complex patent litigation and other contentious IP-related cases.

I have represented major pharmaceutical companies, software companies, computer and medical device manufacturers, well known trade mark owners, book publishers, international airlines, established hotel chains, as well as collection and advertising agencies.

I have been lead counsel in complex patent litigation and other contentious IP-related cases, and have been involved in a number of high profile and precedent setting IP cases before the Singapore Court of Appeal and the Patent Office, as well as handling multi-jurisdictional IP litigation. I have been inducted in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for intellectual property in Singapore.

I have also written and presented many articles and papers across the spectrum of IP law. I am the author of 'Enforcing Injunctions', a co-contributor to 'Essays on Computer Law', and general editor of 'A Guide to Singapore Patent Law'. I also authored the Patent section of 'The Halsbury Law of Singapore' and the Singapore chapter on Patent Claim Interpretation.

You'll find me ranked as a leading intellectual property lawyer by Asia Pacific Legal 500, IAM Patent 1000, Chambers Asia Pacific and IPAsia. I am also a panel member of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre. I am also a Certified Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) and Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI).
