My experience includes high profile financial restructurings, representing leading investment banks and financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity houses in relation to their investments.

I advise on cross-border financial restructurings and UK restructurings and insolvencies, and I have advised debtors and creditors as well as strategic investors and sponsors, on restructurings of stressed and distressed businesses.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked at a leading UK law firm and two leading US law firms.

  • Advising a large high street retailer with international franchises on their ongoing high profile confidential restructuring.
  • Representative matters from previous firms include:
  • A Ukrainian energy group in relation to its financial restructuring of c. €1 billion of debt, including implementation through a proposed scheme of arrangement.
  • A Danish shipping group on all aspects of its financial restructuring.
  • Tragus Group in relation to its financial and operational restructuring and Company Voluntary Arrangements relating to Café Rouge Restaurants and Bella Italia Restaurants, as well as the pre-pack sale of Strada.
  • TPG as lender/investor of LA Fitness, including advice in relation to the Company Voluntary Arrangements.
  • The Harkand Group with Oaktree Capital Management as sponsor in relation to its financial and operational restructuring.
  • Nordea Bank as lender to the Royal Imtech Group, during the restructuring phase of the Group.
  • Wentworth Sons in the Lehman Brothers International (Europe) Waterfall II litigation arising from a c. £8 billion surplus in the estate.
