Yuankai regularly acts for clients in litigation and international arbitration disputes in sectors such as technology and telecommunications, aviation, sports, energy, shareholder and employment disputes. Yuankai has acted in disputes involving a wide range of countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, China, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea, USA and Pakistan and has represented clients in arbitrations administered under the SIAC, ICC, KLRCA and UNCITRAL Rules and in emergency arbitrations administered under the SIAC Rules.
Yuankai is an accredited mediator, is currently on the Singapore Mediation Centre's Panel of Associate Mediators and Panel of Coaches. He has experience mediating commercial disputes at the Singapore Mediation Centre and the State Courts of Singapore and, as counsel, frequently represents clients in mediations and negotiations.
In 2016, Yuankai was also appointed by the Supreme Court of Singapore to the Young Amicus Curiae programme to assist the Supreme Court in cases involving novel points of law or important issues of public policy. He currently serves as an advocacy tutor for the Preparatory Course leading to Part B of the Singapore bar examinations and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
Prior to joining us as an associate in 2012, Yuankai practised in another leading dispute resolution firm.
