Vincenzo Giorgio

I am an associate in our Finance & Financial Regulation department, based in Rome. I specialise in project finance work with a specific focus on the renewable energy sector.

I focus on project finance matters, mainly in the renewable energy sector with a particular experience in drafting and negotiating the relevant finance documents.

I also have experience in drafting and negotiating national and international EPC, AMA and O&M contracts together with PPAs and other project contracts, having also taken part in the initiative launched by SolarPower Europe on the drafting of guidelines on project contracts in the photovoltaic sector.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked for a leading US law firm focusing on international taxation and for another UK law firm on project finance.

• Advising two major international funds in relation to a project bond financing transaction for the construction of a wind farm in Campania.
• Assisting one of the world's leading renewable energy infrastructure pension fund, in respect to the acquisition of a portfolio of several PV plants and the consequent refinancing with a pool of international lenders.
• Advising one of the most important Italian bank in refinancing five photovoltaic plants in the first grid parity project in Italy.
• Assisting two major international funds in the development of their entire portfolio of about 300MW of PV and wind farm projects in Italy.
