Uwe is a partner in our Düsseldorf office and a member of our Intellectual Property group.
He specialises in non-technical intellectual property and, in particular, trade marks, competition, design and copyrights. He provides long term strategic advice to many well known German and international companies.
Uwe focuses on protecting his clients’ intangible assets through a combination of monitoring and filing strategies and by representing clients in conflicts in and out of court. He has been involved in the protection of colour trademarks in national registries and at CTM level as well as in colour trademark enforcement. He provides strategic advice and represents clients in proceedings – from searches and filing to infringement litigation. Uwe works with clients on both domestic and multi-jurisdictional issues.
Uwe studied law at the Universities of Passau and Bochum. He was admitted to the Regional Court Düsseldorf Bar in 1998 and has been a partner at Bird & Bird since 2002.
He is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics relating to non-technical intellectual property and is the co-editor and author of the “Stöckel/Lüken Handbook on Trademark and Design Law”.
