Tom is a specialist transactional IP lawyer, and works on IP rich complex transactions across a range of sectors
Tom is a partner in our Intellectual Property practice, based in London.
His practice is predominantly centred around transactional Intellectual Property, with a particular focus on technology and brands.
Acting for private equity firms and corporate clients, Tom advises on the intellectual property and technology aspects of high-stakes transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity capital market transactions, spin-outs, investment rounds, restructurings, joint ventures, collaborations and financings.
Tom also has considerable experience of advising in respect of stand-alone complex, high-value commercial IP contracts relating to the commercialisation of intellectual property rights, such as agreements relating to the licensing and transfer of intellectual property. He regularly conducts IP audits for clients, providing related strategic advice.
Tom has a scientific background with a first class MSc degree in chemistry from Durham University. He qualified in 2005 into the Intellectual Property department of a Magic Circle firm, joining us in 2006. He also gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law in 2006.
