Tobias has experience in a wide range of intellectual property matters, particularly across the Media, Entertainment and Technology sectors.
Tobias is an associate in our Intellectual Property Group based in London.
Since joining Bird & Bird in 2013, Tobias has been involved in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters in relation to copyright, trade marks, passing off, designs and patents.
He has a particular interest in the convergence of media & entertainment, digital and IP – his recent work has involved, among other things, advising on: brand enforcement and filing strategy for a social media website; patent litigation in relation to film technology for major studios and video content providers; global litigation strategy in relation to comparative advertising claims; and liability for copyright / trade mark infringement in relation to online content.
Tobias is an editor of our international media-focused news hub MediaWrites.
He is also a keen advocate for diversity and inclusion in the work place, as co-chair of our LGBT+ group standOUT and a committee member of IP Out, a national taskforce for LGBT+ people working in the IP profession.
Tobias read Biology at Durham University before undertaking an LLB at Kaplan Law School. Since being admitted as a solicitor in 2015, he has completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice at the University of Oxford.
