As an associate in our Corporate & Commercial Group based in Shanghai and a member of our International Privacy & Data Protection Group, I advise Chinese and international clients on a range of data protection and cybersecurity issues in China and Europe, with a special focus on the TMT sector.

During my career I have been based in both London and Shanghai with a remit to develop China inbound and outbound work, which gave me an insight into the different approaches to compliance, regulation and enforcement in two jurisdictions, i.e. between China Cybersecurity Law and EU GDPR. I have been involved in providing data protection awareness training, drafting customer/employee-facing privacy documents, carrying out data protection compliance projects, reviewing data processing and cross-border data transfer agreements, responding to data subject right requests and data breach notification, and advising on cybersecurity law.

I have also worked with clients on investigating the privacy impact of new technologies and connected vehicles initiatives, which equipped me with better understanding of the fast-evolving industry.

I am fluent in English and Mandarin.
