I work as an associate in our EU & Competition law team in Brussels where I provide practical legal advice to our clients on international trade-related matters, with a particular focus on EU trade defence and the interplay between technology and trade.

As a member of Bird & Bird's international trade team, I have developed an in-depth understanding of EU trade defence law. I have assisted clients in various phases of anti-dumping investigations, from the preparation of complaints to annulment proceedings before the EU courts. I have been involved in numerous outreach efforts towards EU and Member State authorities, which has allowed me to develop a keen awareness of the political environment in Brussels.

In addition, as a member of our firm's Tech & Comms group, I regularly advise clients on EU regulatory questions related to cutting-edge technology such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things or electric vehicles. I am particularly interested in the interface of trade and technology law, where questions arise on the territorial scope of EU data protection rules, on the transfer of data between jurisdictions, on export controls on dual-use goods, or on the screening of foreign direct investment into the EU.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I spent four years at the University of Leuven while preparing my doctoral dissertation in the field of EU foreign relations law.

I have been a member of the Brussels bar since 2012 and am fluent in Dutch, French and English.
