Sven-Erik has a long-standing and excellent reputation as one of the leading communications lawyers in Germany.
Sven-Erik is a partner in the Frankfurt office of our Commercial Practice and also heads our German Communications Sector Group. Since 2015, he coordinates the management activities as Head of Country for Germany and serves on the firm’s international management bodies.
He has long-standing and widely recognised broad experience in communications, information technology (IT), e-commerce and internet law as well as in energy and data protection law. His expertise covers the full range of advice to network operators, service providers, investors and corporate customers in the information and communication technology (ICT) and energy markets with a particular focus on resources (such as infrastructure assets, rights of way and frequencies), convergence (such as Cloud Computing, M2M, Smart Grid/Metering, Internet of Things), outsourcing and platform projects, as well as on regulatory and data protection compliance, often combined with multi-jurisdictional project management.
Sven-Erik’s practice includes legal, regulatory and strategic advice in projects and transactions, the structuring and negotiation of commercial contracts, representation before national and European regulatory and antitrust authorities and also administrative, antitrust and civil court litigation and arbitration proceedings.
A frequent speaker at industry conferences, editor and author of the “Handbuch Telekommunikationsrecht”, Sven-Erik has published numerous articles on legal questions of telecommunications, IT, data protection and e-commerce law in leading reviews such as Computer und Recht (where he is also member of the editorial board) as well as in treatises such as the “Handbuch Fachanwalt IT-Recht” and in the new 2014 edition of the “Auernhammer” data protection commentary.
He is Co-Chairman of the working party on Telecommunications of the German Computer Law Association and a member of the advisory council (Fachbeirat) to the EuroHandelsinstitut e.V. (EHI) in relation to the compliance certification of online shops under www.shopinfo.net.
