Sofia Paksuniemi

I am an associate in our Intellectual Property group in Helsinki.

My work spans all areas of intellectual property law including advising our clients on trademarks, copyright related questions and protecting trade secrets. I have graduated from the University of Eastern Finland in 2020. In addition to law, I have also studied biology at the University of Eastern Finland. Due to my versatile study background, I have a special understanding of life science related questions.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, I worked as Legal Officer at Trade Register, Finnish Patent and Registration Office and therefore have a good understanding of corporate law. During my studies, I had traineeships at IPR University Center and a major Finnish attorney's office's IP and Technology team.

I work fluently in Finnish and English. I am a member of the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights.
