Slawomir Szepietowski

I am the Managing Partner of the Warsaw office and an expert in the legal aspects of financial markets, including regulatory matters, financing transactions, fintech and payment services.

Taking a business-oriented and customer-focused approach to my work, I provide legal services to financial institutions, including public companies and investment funds.

I'm passionate about supporting innovations and new technologies in the financial sector. That's why I try to be as close as possible to this environment and its market trends. I co-operate with the FinTech Poland foundation, and The Heart – a corporate innovations centre which leads a consortium developing new technologies in the financial sector. I have worked on many exciting projects; and I had the pleasure leading a team that acted as sole legal advisor to the Polish API - the dedicated interface model for fintechs, which complies with the new directive on payment services (PSD2), and was initiated by The Polish Banks Association.

I build strong relationships with clients and partners based on trust and common business targets. This requires listening, creating, and thinking one step ahead at all times. What I enjoy most about my job is the Bird & Bird collaborative approach, and working closely alongside colleagues as part of a bigger team with people who are passionate about what they do.

Prior to joining our firm, I had worked in banks and international law firms since 1998.
