I am an associate in our Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms groups, based in Belgium. Through my professional experience and diverse academic background, I offer pragmatic and business-orientated services in the area of data protection and IT law.

My work covers all aspects of privacy and data protection law as well as IT and general commercial law, both in an advisory and in a litigious context.

Over the course of an eight-month in-house secondment, I have assisted two major German insurance companies located in Brussels with their GDPR compliance project. The focus was at the same time on providing legal advice as well as on the practical implementation of the GDPR. In that regard, my assignments included the drafting and reviewing of data protection-related documents, co-ordinating with different branches of the organisations and ensuring daily follow-up of data protection matters. Additionally, I assisted the legal team on work in the field of insurance law and general commercial law, including contract reviews and negotiatons.

After graduating from the University of Ghent, I obtained a Master in General Management at the Vlerick Business School, a programme which offers a broad view on core management domains, with a strong focus on the development of professional and interpersonal skills.

My academic background and working experience allows me to understand the business needs of our clients, as well as the importance of providing pragmatic, efficient and to the point work.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2018, I worked as an associate at a nationally acclaimed Belgian law firm.

My native language is Dutch and I am fluent in English with a good command of French.
