Specialised lawyer in all areas of communications law
Simon is a specialised lawyer in all areas of communications and information law, based in the Frankfurt office. He advises enterprises in cases and projects relating to data protection, media and communications regulation, competition law and IP.
Simon is an experienced advisor in situations where highly innovative products face regulatory issues. He is particularly interested in matters such as the Internet of Things, Net Neutrality, Big Data or “Over The Top” Services in telecommunications and media. He also advises on contract design, marketing, distribution and other commercial issues.
He is a member of the Information Law Experts Committee of the German Bar Association (DAV), editor of the German specialized weblog “Telemedicus” and lecturer on “European Media Law” at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. He regularly speaks on public conferences and writes on topics such as media convergence, regulation of communications networks, data protection and the future of broadcasting regulation. Before joining Bird & Bird, Simon worked as an in-house lawyer for a large German public broadcaster. He holds a PhD (Dr.) and a degree in Information- Telecommunications and Media Law (University of Münster).
