Shariqa advises clients in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters involving copyright, trade marks and patents.
Shariqa is an associate in our Intellectual Property group, based in Sydney.
She has experience working with clients across a range of industries including life sciences, media and entertainment, fashion and design, consumer goods, technology and communications.
She has been involved in copyright, trade mark and patent litigation, as well as court proceedings involving contract claims, misleading or deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law and passing off. She also has experience in trade mark prosecutions and oppositions, advising on intellectual property protection and enforcement, and regulatory matters in the media and healthcare sectors.
Before joining us, Shariqa worked at a boutique intellectual property, arts and entertainment firm and a leading national firm.
Shariqa holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of Sydney. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Federal Court, High Court and Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2013.
