Robbert is a senior associate in our Corporate Practice, and a member of our Energy & Utilities Group. He is based in The Hague.
Robbert advises and represents clients in the areas of corporate and commercial law, energy law and national and EU competition / state aid law. He primarily serves large domestic and (inter)national clients in the energy, resources and utilities industries, often in an international context.
He has ample experience in conducting administrative procedures with the Dutch energy market regulator and competition authority (ACM), drafting and advising on commercial (energy) contracts. He also advises on various issues of gas and electricity regulation and compliance, commercial liability as well as litigation in court and with arbitral tribunals issues (e.g. NAI) and competition law and merger advice.
Robbert joined us in 2018. Prior to joining the legal profession, Robbert spent ten years working in the oil & gas industry (governance, economics and business development in Nigeria with Shell) and in investment banking (corporate finance with UBS).
He is a member of a number of professional associations including the Dutch Energy Law Association (NeVER), the Dutch Competition Law Association (VvM) and the Assocation of Chartered Controllers (VRC).
