Quirine heads our Data Protection Practice in the Netherlands. She is based in The Hague.
Her practice focuses on matters where technology meets privacy law, such as big data issues, behavioural targeting and cyber security. Quirine has ample experience in advising clients on compliance issues. With her strong basis in administrative procedural law, Quirine is a trusted advisor to her clients in discussions with regulators.
Quirine isa member of our Tech & Comms and Media Groups. Over the last 15 years she has worked with a variety of companies in the telecom and media sectors, where she focussed on infrastructural issues, and frequency auctions.
Additionally, she is an excellent litigator and has represented companies involved in disputes between market participants and regulators, including the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP), the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), the Telecoms Agency (AT) and the Dutch Media Authority (CvdM).
Quirine was admitted to the bar in 2002. Before joining us in 2016, she worked for several top tier national and international law firms. She is a member of a number of professional organisations, such as the Dutch Associations for Media and Privacy Law (VPR) and the Dutch Association for Media and Communications Law (VMC). Furthermore, Quirine lectures regularly and she publishes in her area of expertise. She is co-author of the highly valued “Tekst & Commentaar” edition privacy law.
