Pavel is a senior associate in our Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms groups in the Czech Republic.
Within his specialisation, Pavel advises predominantly on a full range of contentious and non-contentious matters related to IT law (software licensing, legal matters connected to the implementation of IT systems , distribution, online commerce, cloud computing, open source, data protection and data security law) including end user licence agreements, database licensing agreements, contractual negotiations, software copyright protection, outsourcing arrangements of all kinds and cyber security matters, as well as assisting on technology-related mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. His expertise also covers intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, designs, patents, unfair competition, domain names and data protection.
Pavel has been a frequent presenter on cybersecurity related issues such as Trends in Cyber Security.
Prior to spending four years in practice with a local law firm, Pavel spent five years as an IT systems developer, where he was involved in the development of an IT system for Regional and High courts in the Czech Republic.
Pavel has a Masters in Law from the Law Faculty of Charles University as well as a Masters in Information Technology from the University of Economics in Prague.
He speaks fluent Czech and English.
