Miriam advises on IT, data protection and copyright law and especially consults national and international clients on open source compliance projects.
Miriam is Counsel in our Tech & Comms sector group and our Privacy and Data Protection practice group. She advises clients on complex IT projects, especially on GDPR and open source licence compliance. She has several years of experience in drafting, consulting and negotiating all types of "classic" IT contracts, as well as in advising on collaborative software development projects between companies and on open source projects.
She also focuses on data protection and advises clients on a wide range of data protection matters. She has experience in GDPR compliance projects and in drafting and negotiating data transfer and data processing agreements.
In April 2018, Miriam was elected to the Council of the Legal Network of the Free Software Foundation Europe and since 2015 she has been Chair of the Compliance Work Team of the OpenChain project, whose objective is to define standards for the handling of open source software in supply chains.
Prior to joining us, Miriam worked at a software company where she was responsible for software compliance, technology contracts and data protection law. Miriam has also worked at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Germany and at a Berlin based IT/IP boutique law firm.
Miriam has regular speaking engagements at IT/IP-focused conferences and holds external and in-house seminars on open source license compliance.
