Miriam advises national and international clients on IT contracts, data protection and copyright law, especially in relation to open source software.
Miriam is a Senior Associate in our Tech & Comms sector group and our Privacy and Data Protection practice group. She advises clients on all types of "classic" IT contract, as well as on agile software development contracts and on cooperations with and contributions to open source software projects.
She also focuses on data protection and copyright law. She has advised clients on a wide range of data protection matters and has experience of drafting and negotiating data transfer and data processing agreements. Miriam’s special focus is on all legal matters concerning open source software, where she has especially advised clients in open source licence compliance projects, as well as on contract design and representation in court proceedings.
Prior to joining us, Miriam worked at Lumesse GmbH where she was responsible for software compliance, data protection law and technology contracts. Miriam has also worked at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Germany and at a Berlin based IT/IP boutique law firm.
Miriam supports the OpenChain initiative, a project defining standards for handling open source software in supply chains. She is head of the project’s conformance working group.
Miriam regularly gives talks on legal issues relating to open source software and holds external and in-house seminars on open source licence compliance.
Her working languages are German and English.
