Mariëlle is a senior associate in our Dispute Resolution Practice and is based in The Hague.
For over 18 years, Mariëlle has been specialising in ‘conflicts & contracts’: commercial litigation and (international) commercial contracts, often related to compliance and regulation.
She has specific expertise in the field of (cross-border) sales, distribution and other commercial cooperation agreements, pre-trial advice, insolvency, civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Mariëlle also advises clients on legal strategy/policy, including contract management and compliance. She is a member of our Tech & Comms Group.
Mariëlle has a wide range of experience as attorney, in-house lawyer and mediator. She worked for national and multinational companies in the Food & Beverage and Technology industries, where she advised – amongst other things – in the areas of customer development, marketing and supply chain. She has extensive experience with contract negotiations and liability law, including subjects such as termination of negotiations, non-conformity/warranty claims, product liability and professional liability (including directors’ and officers’ liability).
Mariëlle was first admitted to the bar in 1999 and joined us in 2017. After graduating at the Radboud University (Nijmegen), Mariëlle worked with another top tier law firm in the Netherlands and as in-house lawyer. She is a trained mediator and completed the postgraduate course Company & Liability at the Grotius Academy (Onderneming & Aansprakelijkheid). Mariëlle is a member of the board of the Rotterdam Legal Society (het Rotterdams Juridisch Genootschap).
