Marieke specialises in commercial litigation and has extensive experience handling complex technical cases.
Marieke is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Practice and is based in The Hague.
She specialises in commercial litigation, focusing on contractual disputes and liability issues relating to the life sciences, IT and construction sectors. Her cases include large-scale litigations on behalf of and against insurance companies. Marieke has worked on many cases with cross-border aspects, and has significant experience with issues of international competence and enforcement. She has ample experience of drafting procedural documents for court proceedings, and represents clients before Dutch courts and dispute resolution committees. Her practice also includes advising on commercial disputes in the pre-litigation stages. Marieke is regularly involved in litigations before the Dutch Supreme Court with Supreme Court lawyer Evelyn Tjon-En-Fa. She is a member of our Litigation and Insurance teams, as well as our Life Sciences and Tech & Comms Groups.
Marieke joined us in 2012, having studied Law and International Law at the University of Leiden and Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a member of the Dutch Association for Procedural Law (NVvP), the Royal Dutch Association for International Law (KNVIR) and the International Law Association (ILA).
