Marianne Minnecré-Kracht

Principal Regulatory Counsel

I am a Principal Regulatory Counsel in our Regulatory and Public Affairs Group in The Hague, where I have extensive advisory experience in the national and international telecoms and media sectors.

My practice involves developing and presenting strategic, regulatory and policy views and supporting our clients at a national and EU level on a wide range of regulatory issues.

With in-depth knowledge of the decision making processes of regulatory and political stakeholders, and a broad network of contacts here in the Netherlands and in the EU, I advise on how best to engage with stakeholders in a constructive manner.

Observing future developments and using my analytical skills to address issues in a cross-functional way, I make creative connections and translate these into forward-looking actions for our clients to take today. This early awareness enables them to limit the impact of future issues, shaping developments with the right level of engagement with stakeholders to ensure the correct implementation of regulatory requirements.

Before joining Bird & Bird in 2018, I worked for the Dutch Media Authority, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets and the Dutch regulatory authority for telecommunications. I also have experience in international regulatory affairs, including running the office of the BEREC Chair in 2011 and the ERGA Chair in 2016 and 2017.

  • As a project manager I led a study for the European Commission on the implementation of the net neutrality provisions in the EU Member States.
  • I chair a Dutch platform of telecoms providers with regard to consumer interests.
