I have been advising clients since 2014. My key focus areas include criminal cases, especially white-collar crime cases such frauds, manipulation on financial markets, insider trading, VAT frauds, breach of trade secrets, and acts of unfair competition.

I also work on anti-bribery and AML compliance programmes, criminal proceedings both as defence counsel and plaintiff's attorney, preparing legal risk analyses and due diligence, corruption cases in the public sector, and assisting clients with both corporate and civil law matters especially regarding protection of personal interests.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked at a well-known Warsaw law firm, where I advised on corporate and labour law issues and prepared several due diligence reports. During my studies, I worked in the Legal Clinic at Kozminski University, where I provided pro bono legal advices in civil and criminal law. I also completed an internship in the Criminal Department at the County Court.

  • We represented an individual charged with participating in an organised criminal group, which led a VAT carousel. The charges relate to the fraud of over PLN 60 million (EUR 15 million) VAT. Thanks to our experience and effective process strategy, the preventive measure in the form of temporary detention has been lifted. The case is developing. The priority in this case is to protect client's best interest and exonerate the client from criminal liability.
  • We advised a Sweden-based subsidiary of leading technology company which is the world's largest commercial company specialising in the design and production of thermal imaging cameras in criminal proceedings regarding the theft of software and the unlawful duplication of this software, which resulted in the company's loss in the amount of approx. PLN 1 million (EUR 250.000). The case was multithreaded and multidisciplinary, as it combined threads of criminal law and copyright law, as well as intellectual property. In the criminal proceedings our goal was to protect the client's copyrights and exclude illegal competition from the market. The case was successfully settled. The concluded settlement is effective and protects the full scope of client's rights and interests.
  • We advised a Poland-based subsidiary of international telecommunication company, which is one the largest and most innovative international technological corporations worldwide. The company specialises in business communications and provides a variety of services. During our cooperation with client's polish branch, we provided comprehensive and professional staff trainings regarding, in particular, compliance, whistleblowing and anti-bribery. The main goal of the collaboration was to significantly improve employees' awareness of potential business risks and to propose possible solutions of dealing with them and how to effectively prevent them.
