Lucy is a commercial lawyer with a particular focus on the Aviation & Defence sector. She is a Partner in our Commercial Group and is based in London.
Lucy's practice covers international defence and aerospace companies, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, aftermarket suppliers and other aviation and defence businesses on every type of commercial issue, from high value, high profile projects to business-as-usual arrangements. She provides advice and support on aircraft, engine and fleet maintenance agreements, fuelling arrangements, groundhandling agreements, outsourcing and franchise agreements, and technology based projects. Lucy's aviation practice also covers Travel, Airports and UAVs/drones.
Lucy has a wealth of experience with Government procurement projects on both buy and sell side, in the Aviation & Defence sector and across other sectors such as health. She advises on bids, technology projects, complex contracting structures, collaboration arrangements and single source defence contracting. Lucy's project experience also covers the energy sector, advising developers and funders on solar developments, nuclear, hydro, wind, AD, and electric vehicle projects.
Lucy spearheads Bird & Bird's Travel group and regularly speaks at aviation conferences; she has an interest in how technology and data is driving growth and changing the sector. She is a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and sits on their Women in Aviation and Aerospace Committee.
After spending a few years in industry at BAE Systems, Lucy joined us in October 2011 having previously worked for another City firm as an M&A and projects lawyer.
