Lorraine is highly regarded as a leading intellectual property practitioner with experience in international and cross-border issues.
Lorraine is the joint managing partner and head of the Intellectual Property & Technology Group of our office in Singapore.
Her broad practice area focuses primarily on non-contentious and general intellectual property (IP) advisory work, working closely with her clients across various industries to manage, protect and exploit their portfolio of IP rights, including trademarks, patents and design covering multiple jurisdictions worldwide. She is also very experienced in handling complex cross border IP issues and often helms the strategy as she manages disputes including oppositions and negotiations.
Lorraine is also active in transactions involving the commercial exploitation of IP (such as mergers and acquisitions, licensing, franchising). She often leads and manages due diligence and clearance exercises on a global basis, provides risk assessments and attends to negotiations and drafting of related documentation and agreements.
Lorraine also regularly advises clients on regulatory and advertising related issues.
Lorraine has over 20 years' experience in IP and serves on various Committees with the International Trade Marks Association (INTA). She is consistently recognised as a leading IP lawyer by clients and top legal directories including Legal 500, Chambers, Managing IP, World Trademark Review, Asia IP Experts, and Expert Guides. She was also recently awarded the Client Choice Awards 2018 for IP in Singapore and ranked as one of Singapore's top 100 lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal in 2018.
She participates on various committees with the International Trademark Association (INTA), and regularly presents at events and seminars organised by WIPO, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), and the IP Academy, and is often invited as an IP trainer to assist in government related/supported initiatives in Singapore and regionally. In recognition of her expertise, Lorraine also served as an IP Adjudicator on behalf of IPOS for a two-year term. She is also a registered Singapore patent agent.
