Lonneke Kraan

As a lawyer with more than 10 years' experience in notarial law, I focus on real estate issues working as a paralegal in our Real Estate Group and our Notary department, which is part of our Corporate Group. I am based in The Hague where I am also a member of our Life Sciences Group.

Today, I advise our clients on the purchase, sale and finance of real estate, specialising in ownership matters for fixed infrastructure, particularly networks. I also provide advice to clients on the registration, transfer and mortgage of networks (including telecoms, gas and electricity) and on other infrastructural real estate issues, such as masts for mobile telephones. Furthermore, I advise our clients on the finance of solar panels.

In addition to this, I work in the fields of corporate law and restructuring, including the incorporation of companies, the amendment of articles of association, the transfer and pledge of shares, and cross border mergers, de-mergers and acquisitions. One of my other roles is as a member of our risk management team. In this role, I lecture my colleagues on the regulations for lawyers with respect to the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act.

I have been working here at Bird & Bird since 2008.
