I am an associate in our Commerical and Corporate practice in Hong Kong where I focus my work on behalf of our clients in aviation, aerospace and defence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Our clients include a board spectrum of aviation clients including airlines, lessors, financial institutions and other leading aviation industry business.

We act for our clients on a wide variety of cross-border transactions throughout the Asia-Pacific region, due to the nature of these transactions we work with our expert colleagues in Bird & Bird and other law firms in the region.

Having come from an in-house position prior to my current role, I am aware of clients concerns from an in-house perspective.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked at another international law firm where my work involved structured financing, aviation as well as shipping. Before that I worked in-house at a major Asian container shipping company, a hedge fund in Hong Kong and an Australian-listed energy company. This in-house experience has provided me with valuable expertise in structured financing including Japanese operating leases and UK tax leases. Before returning to Hong Kong, I practised law in South Africa.

I am fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • We represented our client in the lease restructurings of over 40 aircraft on lease to 17 different lessors due to changes in the Labuan regulations.
