Lennart Schüßler is an experienced lawyer who is highly appreciated for his practice-oriented advice to national and international clients.
Lennart is a member of our Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group and our Tech & Comms Sector Group based in our Frankfurt and Düsseldorf offices.
He advises national and international clients – both customers and suppliers – on all kinds of IT, online, copyright (including OSS) and data protection law matters. Lennart has worked with clients from the public and the private sector in particular in the IT, financial services, retail, healthcare, automotive and telecommunications sector. Lennart’s broad practical experience and expertise cover the full range of matters of IT-law and he worked on various commercial transactions, projects and outsourcing matters. He also specialises in drafting and negotiating complex IT contracts, as well as contractual and regulatory issues in digital media, the Mobile, eCommerce and IT security sectors.
Lennart has a particular focus on national and international data protection matters and projects. He advised various clients on employee and ( inter-) company privacy matters, international transfers (including BCRs), customer facing agreements as well as a range of matters relating to new business areas, such as big data, IoT, biometrics, telematics, sensitive/health data, social media, behavioural targeting, mobile apps, cloud computing and mobile network advertising. He also advises on a regular basis on the implementation of the new requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Lennart has undertaken two six-month secondments, firstly at the EMEA headquarters of a world leading agricultural machinery manufacturer where he was responsible for a broad range of IT and data protection matters (including geo-location), and secondly, at our London office where he worked on different international IT and data protection projects. These placements have helped him develop a deep understanding of the in-house market and the needs of clients internationally.
He regularly speaks and publishes on different IT and data protection topics (in particular the GDPR) and is a member of the ‘International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP). Lennart's working languages are German and English.
